Alguns exemplos de adoçantes artificiais para uso culinário são: sucralose (produzido a partir do açúcar comum, não possui calorias e não eleva a glicemia); ciclamato de sódio (tem alta concentração de sódio e não é indicado para hipertensos); sacarina (sintetizado de um derivado do petróleo e tem sabor residual amargo em concentrações maiores).
Se você é diabético, então, os adoçantes culinários recomendados são aqueles que não possuem calorias, mas devem ser determinados por um médico.
O valor calórico pode ir de 0 a 40 kcal por porção de 1 colher de sopa de adoçante. E os carboidratos podem variar de 1 g a 11 g por porção.
Observe também a quantidade de sódio no produto, que pode ser de 0 a 25 mg em 1 colher de sopa, dependendo da composição.
